Ross W. Nash, DDS is co-founder and president of the Nash Institute in Charlotte, N.C. where he provides esthetic and cosmetic dental treatment for patients and continuing dental education for dentists and team members. He is an editorial advisor and regular writer for several dental publications. He has authored a chapter in the dental textbook on esthetic dentistry. An international lecturer on subjects in esthetic and cosmetic dentistry, he is a Fellow in the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry where he served on the accreditation panel and Diplomat for the American Board for Aesthetic Dentistry. He has been a clinical instructor at the medical College of Georgia School of Dentistry, and a guest instructor at Baylor and New York University. Dr. Nash is a consultant to numerous dental products manufacturers. His dentistry has been featured in many clinical step by step technique series for manufacturers and he has won awards from the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry's "Best Smiles" global competition. Dr. Nash is also a contributor to the National ChildrenŐs Dental Health Foundation. With over one million images of case studies, his images of patients and clinical techniques comprised 99% of the original version of the patient education media system "Caesy" - currently owned by Patterson Dental Company. Prior to receiving his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Dr. Nash attended North Carolina State and graduated with a degree in textile engineering and worked with companies such as Dupont Chemical with polymers and dyes. He is convinced this experience has helped him with dental materials and color blending. He is more excited about dentistry today as he was the day he graduated dental school. Esthetic and cosmetic dental treatments have increased rapidly in the United States and abroad. Media attention has driven public demand to request these types of procedures from their general dentist. Today's materials and techniques allow us to provide treatment for health and function combined with esthetics. Dr. Nash will illustrate up-to-date techniques to integrate esthetic and cosmetic treatment in the general practice. He will discuss modern materials, procedures and technology that can aid the dentist in patient care and office productivity. Dr. Nash will review treatment diagnosis and restorative selection. Esthetic rehabilitation cases with an emphasis on conservation of natural tooth structure will be reviewed. Anterior and posterior restorative treatment will be described and illustrated with digital images and video.
